Oceanside, CA
We were so excited to get to stay at Oceanside this summer. Brenden and Sarah were so excited to see the ocean for the first time. They loved walking along the water, playing in the sand, and going boogie boarding. It was nice being there in the summer, the water felt pretty good. Ben taught Brenden how to boogie board, and he caught a lot of waves. He would come rolling onto the sand laughing so hard. Sarah did amazing on her board, I don't know if we were lucky or if it's that she's so light, but she caught every wave. They would bring her right up on the shore. She had so much fun building sand castles with Dylan. Dylan didn't really want to be in the water, it was too cold for him. He loved the sand. He wore himself out crawling in the sand. Everyone loved the pool, and it was really nice and warm after playing in the ocean. We liked walking along the harbor and seeing all the boats. Dylan loved watching all the birds that would hang around the fishing boats. Dylan didn't sleep well, and so at 5:00 when it was starting to get light outside we went out for a walk. It was still too dark to see much, so we went up the street to Denny's, and had some breakfast. Then we walked up the beach and walked the pier. On the way back home Dylan fell asleep, but woke up and was ready to go play at the beach when we got home. On our last day after we checked out of the condo we walked the pier and had dessert at Ruby's Diner at the end of the pier. It was cool to look out at the horizon and see the ocean as far as you could see. It was cool sitting inside and feeling the pier rocking softly. Dylan was being so silly and making faces as he was sitting in his high chair. He's such a funny little guy. Sarah and I had a brownie with hot fudge and ice cream, and the boys had peanut butter and chocolate shakes. Everything was so good. It was such a fun visit to the ocean. Oceanside is one of my favorite places. I can't wait to go back again.
This was our first day at the beach, and we were just going to get our feet wet. Some of the waves are very sneaky and knocked Sarah over. Since she was wet anyway she got to really play in the water. It was a wet and sandy walk back to our condo.
