Even though it's been a few days I'm still just devastated. I can't believe that my Randsom dog is gone. He has always been there for me through everything. He was so much more then just a dog to me, and things are just not the same without him.
Two weeks ago he was at a flyball tournament and wasn't running well. I was at home with a sick baby, and so thought that maybe that was it, that he didn't want to run for someone else. He was still acting like he felt okay, wanting to play ball or frisbee all the time. During that week he started being a little less active and while I was petting him noticed that his stomach was feeling hard. He was still eating, pooping, and wanting to play, so I figured that he was doing okay. We went to frisbee practice and he was so happy and loved playing frisbee. The next day his stomach was still feeling hard, I had been massaging it, and he was acting like he didn't want me to touch it. I called my friend Casey and talked with him about it, and we just weren't too concerned. The next day Randsom wanted to be outside more, it was 103 in Vegas, and that's not like him. He didn't want to eat his breakfast and he really likes breakfast time. So after the baby's doctors appointment we took him to Utah to see Casey our Vet. Randsom was so excited to go to Grandma's house, and was acting really happy and having fun. He was really excited to go and see Casey. Casey felt his stomach and thought that he needed some x-rays. He came back and told he that the x-rays and ultrasound showed a big tumor in his stomach that looked like it was on his spleen. The surgery shouldn't be too bad, and the recovery should be pretty easy. He started an IV and I was able to stay with him until the surgery started. Once they were in his abdomen Casey came out and told me that is wasn't on his spleen. It was a big tumor on his bladder and just wasn't something that they usually try to take out. They grow back really fast, and that it's just not a good idea to try to do anything with him. He was able to give him the medicine that put him to sleep without waking him up. It was a pretty big shock, but a relief to know that he's not hurting anymore. If he had to die this really was the best way for it to happen, he didn't have a long illness. He was playing ball and so happy to visit Grandma's house right before. He was so sweet, wagging his tail up until the end, just such a good dog. We took him home and buried him in the yard. We planted some flowers that will come up every year. It's hard without him, we miss him so much. He's the best dog that I've ever had and my best friend, he will be missed.

                         Sand Hollow, 2012

We bought a new kayak so we had to go and test it out. It's a two person ocean kayak. It's the same kind that I had in Hawaii, and I have been so excited to take it out on the lake. Kayaking is one of my favorite things in the world. Have to say it looks pretty good on the jeep. Josh's family was at my parents house and so we packed up my parents kayak, and their kids and spent the day at the lake. My parents loved kayaking so much that they just bought two more and go to the lake several times a week. We had such a good time, it's fun to be around the family.
