Thanksgiving, 2012

Thanksgiving was at my parents house in Hurricane. It was an interesting visit. My brother and kids had the stomach flu, then Thanksgiving day my mom had it. She could hardly get out of bed, we told her not to worry about anything and that we would take care of it. She has been sick a few times on Thanksgiving, and we've taken care of the meal. It ended up pretty well. We got the turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, rolls, yams, vegetables,  and fruit done. Halfway through dinner we noticed that we didn't make any stuffing. We made it the next day and had it with left overs. My mom had made salads and pies the night before. Dinner ended up being delicious. Mom was feeling well enough to eat a little, and was over the worst of the flu. Jessi and Jared came over, Justin, Jenny and Aaron, Mom and Dad, and us. Dylan loved all the fruit salads, the vegetables, and the turkey. He loved being around new people and was such a flirt. After dinner we went and took a tour of Dad's school. It was finished being completely redone and looked amazing. Then we played in the gym. This year we played badminton. It was such a funny game, the boys got pretty competitive, while the girls were mostly swinging and missing. I was laughing so hard, those things are so hard to hit, and when you do hit them they never go where you want them to. Serving was very hit or miss. It was so much fun. Dylan loved running around being part of everyone's game. The next day I wasn't feeling well, and was up all night with the stomach flu. Mom was feeling better and she and Ben took care of Dylan. I think pretty much everyone had stomach flu during Thanksgiving break. Even with everyone getting sick we had a fun time with our family.

Every family has traditions for holidays, we always go to the gym after eating dinner. This year we went shooting too. We had brought our guns with us, Dad and Aaron had theirs and we had a great time. Dad's old plasma TV had died and it was so fun getting to shoot it. Josh stopped on his way to California and brought Grant shooting. He's getting so big. We had such a fun time.

  1. Jace would have loved shooting. Sometime we'll have to have uncle BEn show him how.
